Put Those Hard Working Hands to Work!
Habitat for Humanity’s volunteers support our non-profit’s mission by building an affordable house for a low-income family in need of a new home. If you are seeking a hands-on community service opportunity that allows you to learn more about construction materials and home renovations, this is the volunteer opportunity you have been searching for.
Important Volunteer Information
Under 16 years old: Due to Delaware Child Labor Law, no one under the age of 16 can be allowed to volunteer on the construction sites or at the ReStore. If you are over 14 years of age, we can use you in other activites, including special events, landscaping and clean-up activities. Also, think about being a Habitat advocate, by fundraising for our programs.
On the day you volunteer, you will need to bring a completed volunteer waiver and sexual harassment paper work. If you are under the age of 18 years of old, please fill out the Youth Insurance Liability Waiver which requires a Parent/Guardian Signature. These forms are only valid for one calendar year.
Volunteering with Habitat to satisfy your required court ordered community service requirements? You must complete a Community Service Acknowledgement and Background Check Consent Form, and you must pay for a Background Check to be performed before you can volunteer. These forms need to be turned in and reviewed by the Habitat office at least 3 weeks prior to volunteering.
If you are volunteering for another type of community service requirement (school, work, social services program, etc.), you must comply with the Community Service Acknowledgement as listed above and you must fill out an hours log to track your volunteer hours. Please call (302) 652-0365 ext. 110 to get this paperwork.
